Why doesn't %LOGONSERVER% work on Windows Vista

I'm an assistant administrator at Northern Arizona University. I am in charge of creating a vista image for our campus students. The thing is we have 3 domain controllers. Since our campus is one of the largest populated campus in the us, we need this to work. After creating a mandatory roaming profile for Windows Vista and setting it up on the domain controllers we noticed %LOGONSERVER% doesn't work at all.Confused Running the profile directly from one of the DC results in a successful login. The profile does work, so it can’t be any problem on that end. We haven't gotten around to it but we are planning on upgrade our 2003 servers to 2008. Could this be a issue between 2003 server and Vista? Maybe 2003server lacks the communication to direct the user to one of the three DCs. Either way if this is a problem with 2008 server too, this can’t be good. With in to coming week we will be setting up a 2008 server testing environment. I will know more by then. For now is there any ideas or things you all have figured out? Suggestions are very welcomed. Thanks!

    Hi TWCZ3

You need to contact Microsoft directly on this for the correct support. While posting it here might enable other users to add their comments, you will find that you wont get a good detailed answer as this is a forum for Live Meeting.

Can I siuggest you check back with your company and see what support options you have available. You may find you already have a support contract which means you could get support a lot quicker than waiting on a rogue MS employee answering your question!! (Like Me, although I'd have to declined anyway as I look after Live Meeting!)
